Media Concepts: Movies' Colour Palettes

In our introductory course to media concepts we shortly also talk about how the exposition of a movie sets the mood of the film and how important the colour palette and its stringent use is in achieving this aim.
A very beautiful and instructive website (The Colors of Motion) has now taken this idea further and visualises the colour palettes of movies frame by frame, just like the image on the left showing the first twelve minutes of Sofia Coppola's "Lost In Translation." For those who are interested to find out what colour decisions the director and his or her whole creative team have taken this website is highly instructive and possibly also inspirational if it comes to your own colour palette decisions - be it in movies, print- or web-design and the likes.
On top, it is simply pure eye-candy. Have a look and browse.
